Suppliers, Trades and Craftsmen

One of our greatest strengths is the team of highly experienced local craftsmen we work with who are well recommended and work with professionalism and great attention to detail. These range from Graffitti artists right through to reupholsterers, and include all of the key building trades including carpenters, plumbers, electricians, plasterers and decorators. We are also incredibly passionate about emerging talent in the design industry and look to work with them and support them wherever possible.

We also work with a great range of leading suppliers, including the established suppliers of furniture, lighting, flooring, materials, accessories and artwork, together with the major paint, fabric and wallcovering design houses. Through our relationships with these suppliers we can access products not widely available and purchase them on your behalf at competitive prices.

Eco values

We have a strong Eco belief and will wherever possible source products from suppliers with Eco based values. This belief extends to vintage and upcycled furniture and we are happy to help our clients to find those ‘one-off’ unique pieces that will really give their home the creative edge through scouring reclamation and salvage yards, auctions and flea markets to find these on your behalf.

From our initial free design consultation, we work with our clients to fully understand your aesthetic and functional aspirations for the space, colour, style and material preferences, budget and time constraints and the services you would like us to provide.

From the design consultation we will then provide you with illustrations of our ideas through concept and mood boards, sketches, photographs and 3D visuals resulting in a bespoke design proposal for our clients.

We will also bring together the design elements of style, colour, lighting and layout and propose these to you with comprehensive samples of furniture, fabrics, wall and floor coverings and accessories to be incorporated within the scheme.

This is a refinement of the Design Consultation and Design Concept and gives you the choice of implementing the Design yourself or engaging Designs for Living to oversee and administer the Design Project on your behalf.

Through our relationships with leading furniture, fittings, paint, fabric, floor and wall covering suppliers, we can purchase these on your behalf at competitive prices. We are also happy to scour the salvage and reclamation yards, attend auctions and art fairs and browse flea markets to find those unique ‘one-off’ pieces to complement your design scheme.

This phase is crucial to the successful realisation of our collective creative vision, and starts with detailed planning and thorough preparation.

Designs for Living can oversee the implementation process of the project through our strong network of local craftsmen and tradesmen, who are competitively priced, come highly recommended and work with great professionalism and attention to detail.
